Where ZEP is stronger
- A generous free plan. Ten people at once, free, with screen sharing and a spotlight on each map.
- Classes and events. Quizzes, learning tools and Enterprise servers for events of 300 or more.
- Spaces you build. Maps you design, apps you install and visitor analytics on Pro.
Where Gather is stronger
- Built as an office. Desks, private areas and a space made for a team's working day.
- Recording and a desktop app. Meetings can be recorded within monthly hours, and there's a desktop app as well as the browser.
- Room for larger companies. Single sign-on and custom terms on its Custom plan.
Where TinyFloor fits
- A private office from day one. No map to build and no settings to find: the floor, desks and meeting room are ready, and the office is private on every plan.
- One price for the team. Free for up to 3 people, then $29 a month for up to 15, however many are online.
- Made for working, not events. Statuses, desks, a meeting room and chat for a team's day. No quizzes, stages or event tools.
Which one to choose
- ZEP, for classes, events or a free open space. If you teach, host events or are fine with a space that has no password, ZEP gives you the most for free.
- Gather, for a larger remote office. If you want recording, a desktop app and single sign-on, and per-member pricing works for you.
- TinyFloor, for a small team. If 4 to 15 people want a private office that's ready today, for one price.
How we compared
ZEP's and Gather's prices, limits and features come from their own pricing pages and help centres, read in October 2026, in US dollars before tax. If something wasn't stated there, we left it out rather than guess. We make TinyFloor, so we've said plainly what it doesn't do. Prices change: check each product's page before you buy.

Common questions.
Which is cheaper, ZEP or Gather?
ZEP. Its free plan covers up to 10 people connected at once, and Basic is $4 to $5 per user a month. Gather has no free plan and costs $12 a member a month billed yearly, or $15 monthly. TinyFloor is free for 3 and $29 a month for the whole team.
Which is better for a remote team's office?
Gather is built for offices, with desks, recording and a desktop app. ZEP can be an office too, but much of it now aims at classes, quizzes and events. For a small team that wants a ready-made private office, TinyFloor is simpler and costs less.
Are ZEP and Gather private?
Gather spaces are for your team. On ZEP's free plan a space can't have a password or be limited to signed-in people; those controls come with Basic. TinyFloor offices are private on every plan.
Can we switch to TinyFloor later?
Yes. Make an office, share one invite link and run a week there alongside your current space. There's nothing to migrate.
