The best virtual office software in 2026, honestly compared.
A virtual office gives a remote team one place to be all day: you see who's around and talk by walking up to them, not by sending a link. Here are the nine worth looking at, what each costs and who each is for. We make TinyFloor, so we're not neutral; we say where each product is stronger than ours, and every price comes from its own pricing page, checked in October 2026.

What a virtual office is
A virtual office is a shared 2D or 3D space where each person on the team has a character or a tile. The space stays open while people work, so you can see at a glance who's in, who's busy and who's in a call.
Conversations start the way they would in an office: you move next to someone and talk. Most virtual offices also have meeting rooms, screen sharing and chat, so a small team can use one for most of its day.
How to choose
- How it's priced. Most charge per person each month, which adds up as the team grows. A few charge per office or per space instead.
- The free plan. Check the limits: how many people, how many hours a day and how long a meeting can last.
- Browser or app. A browser office needs nothing installed, which matters for guests and new hires. A desktop app can feel smoother on a computer you own.
- How a conversation starts. With spatial audio you're heard as soon as you're close. With walk-up calls nothing is heard until someone starts the call, which is calmer for work.
- What you'll use every day. Calls, a meeting room, chat and screen sharing are what most teams use. Recordings, AI notes and map editors are useful to some teams, and usually cost more.
The nine worth looking at
- 1.
TinyFloor
Free for 3 people · $19 a month for 10, $49 for 25
A pixel-art office in the browser, on desktop and mobile. Walk up to a teammate to start a video call, sit at a table to meet, with chat channels, screen sharing and a whiteboard. One price for the whole office, not per person. It has no recordings, AI notes or map editor, and offices top out at 25 people.
- 2.
Gather
No free plan · $12 a member a month billed yearly, $15 monthly
The best-known virtual office, with the most features: a custom office you design, recordings and transcription, Google Calendar, GitHub and Spotify integrations, and guests. It ended its free plan in 2025, so it's one of the more expensive choices for a small team.
- 3.
SoWork
Free for 10 members · Basic $5.40 a member a month billed yearly
A virtual office with meeting rooms, team chat and calendar integration. The free plan fits up to 10 members but limits meetings to 30 minutes and has no recordings. Premium, at $12 a member a month billed yearly, adds AI summaries, unlimited recordings and analytics.
- 4.
Kumospace
Free for 5 members · Business $16 a user a month
A polished space with spatial audio and desktop and mobile apps, popular for social events as well as offices. The free plan covers 5 members and one floor. It's among the more expensive for a team of 10 or more.
- 5.
WorkAdventure
Free for 10 people at once · Business €8 a user a month
An open-source pixel-art world you can host yourself, with maps you build in the Tiled editor. Good for technical teams and events that want full control. Setting up a custom map or your own server takes real work.
- 6.
SpatialChat
Free 2 hours a day for 12 · $5 a user a day, Business from $399 a month
Rooms with spatial audio and video bubbles, used a lot for events, classes and workshops. The free plan suits occasional sessions; a team that's in all day needs a Business plan.
- 7.
Roam
No free plan · $19.50 an active member a month
A desktop app for Mac and Windows that bundles a virtual office with meetings, chat, an AI assistant and webinars. You only pay for members who use it that month. It's a whole workplace suite, priced like one.
- 8.
oVice
Free version without support · $65 a month a space, billed yearly
A 2D office priced per space: Entry-S suits about 10 regular members, and Business Starter is $16 a user a month from 20 users. Strong in Japan and with larger companies. The free plan runs on a pre-release version without support.
- 9.
Sococo
No free plan · $13.49 a seat a month, billed yearly, 10 seats minimum
A bird's-eye floor plan of rooms rather than characters, with several screen shares at once. Each seat includes 500 meeting minutes a month. Built for companies that buy software by the year.
